Position Purpose: PURPOSE RBC Offshore Fund Managers Limited (RBCOFM) provides services to the Investment Management, Broker/Dealer and Fund Promoter industries. These services include Fund Valuations, Investor Services, Corporate Secretarial and Financial Accounting.
The Fund Valuations Group is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of fund valuations and net asset values for regulated and unregulated Collective Investment Vehicles (Trust, Corporate and Venture Capital structures).
Key Accountabilities: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FUND VALUATION Supervise team and perform a variety of fund valuation functions. Verify the timely and accurate reconciliation of cash and assets with the Custodian Review and authorise all valuations and income / capital distributions Authorise monthly foreign exchange hedging activity Reports NAV and yields to the media, Unitholder Registrar and other interested parties FINANCIAL REPORTING Review monthly reconciliation and analysis of the general ledger Review and sign-off monthly Fund Administrator audit package Assist Financial Accounting prepare draft fund financial statements as required Assist external auditors by providing factual data on funds assigned AUDIT AND CONTROL Review and authorise all valuations, income / capital distributions and monthly audit packages (Valuation cash and assets to with the Custodian) Authorise updates (security, prices and entitlements) to the security master Review the Valuation Exception reports (Valuation cash and asssets with Custodian) and advise all releveant fund administration team members of out of balance positions, missed corporate action, dividend and entitlement activity Review price variance report to ensure changes are within departmental guideleines CLIENT SERVICE Deliver quality customer service through timely and accurate report delivery Provide relevant fee billing data to Financial Accounting to ensure timely and accurate client invoicing Participate in developing and maintaining up to date Client / Fund Desk Operating Procedures Provide clients with prompt responses to service issues or queries in a professional manner that consistently exceeds clients expectations Maintain client on site reports in an organised manner (ie valuations for each fund are accounted for and prepared for archive in an organised manner) Act as a coprorate ambassador, making contribution to enhace RBCOFMs position and image within the GPB / RBFG, the market place, clients, Regulators and business community.
Knowledge / Experience: EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
Required Proven experience in fund valuations. Good working knowledge of Regulatory requirements. Securities experience . Relevant professional qualification. Completion of Certificate for Offshore Funds Course. Proven organisation and time management skills. Excellent oral & written communication and interpersonal skills. Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
Preferred Incumbent will experience pressure associated with meeting fixed deadlines. Overtime may be required during peak periods such as month end and year-end. Incumbent is expected to keeping up-to-date with changes in the securities markets, investment regulations and local regulatory authorities.
